“Yes- sorry I meant sledding!. I got my words mixed up then, heh.” She felt so stupid that she mixed up her words, she felt her cheeks burn with embarrassment. She blinked as she looked back at him, raising her brows slightly. “you can make a sled?..”.
He smiled. “Nah, s'all good,” he said, putting a hand up. “But yes, I can, actually.” He held up his staff, gripping it tight, as if he were preparing for something. Whirling it around, he created an ice sculpture of a sled. Usually something like that wouldn’t hold up, but since it was winter, and it was cold, the sled would last. “A sled like this, perhaps?” he said proudly, a smirk on his lips as he presented the ride.
“it is a nice song” she agreed, smiling. “I wouldn’t say caroling, but like I suggested before, how about shedding?. But don’t have a shed…so..erm”.
“Shedding?” He tilted his head, confused. He was pretty sure he hadn’t done something like shedding before. And as far as he knew, shedding was something snakes did. “Uh, I think you mean sledding? Because I can make a sled, you know.”
She smiled gently as he said she was alright, better than him. “Thanks” she replied, smiling gently. “It’s called ‘the call’, its one of my favorite songs..” she admitted, smiling a tiny bit more.
“It’s a nice song,” he said, making a mental note to check it out some time. He bit his lip, unsure of what to say now. “So. What shall we do next? And don’t say caroling, we both now how bad that would go.” He chuckled.
Darcy looked at him as he said he wasn’t finished with her. She blinked several times, staring at him. “Me?” she said softly, her cheeks turning a crimson red. She was about to argue, saying she couldn’t. But She sighed, she did make him sing. The least she could do was something embarrassing in return…
“Fine” she replied reluctantly, as she tried to think of a song, she could sing. A song she knew all the lyrics to, when it finally came to her. She cleared her throat, taking in a deep breath and began to sing.
it started out as a feeling
which then grew into a hope
which then turned into a quiet thought
which then turned into a quiet word
and then that word grew louder and louder
til it was a battle cry
I’ll come back
when you call me
no need to day goodbye..
She was then finished, there was more lyrics to the song. But she knew she only had to sing a enough as he did. She tried her best to sound good or at least okay, but she was a little out of tune but she tired. She avoided his gaze slightly, as her face became slightly red. The song she sang was one of her favorites, and it was kinda personal to her…
He smiled a bit hearing her sing; she wasn’t the best singer, but her singing was pretty decent. When she finished singing, he nodded in approval. “Well, you’re a lot better than me, that’s for sure,” he said, smiling brightly. “What song was that?”
Darcy listened to him sing, he was so out of tune. But she couldn’t help but smirk. “yes I am~, thank you~” she chirped and chuckles a little. “So~…what shall we do now?, go shedding?” she suggested. “But then again…don’t have a shed…”.
“Hold on, hold on, I’m not finished with you,” he said, crossing his arms. He had never in his life, in his three hundred years, felt so vulnerable. Except maybe when he had Pitch take away his staff and break it in front of him. He clenched his teeth. “Now you go do something embarrassing. Sing, or something.”
She just looked at him in anticipation, just waiting for his answer. Her big brown eyes shining softly, begging him. A big smile plaster along her lips..
“Fine,” he said, rolling his eyes again. “I am so going to regret this.”
I don’t want a lot for Christmas There is just one thing I need I don’t care about the presents Underneath the Christmas tree…
He sighed. It was over, thank God. And he’d barely made it; he was so out of tune, his face was red by the end of the song. “Happy?”
Darcy’s lips grew into a big smile as he thanked her. “Your welcome” she replied heartily. She was happy, she was able to cheer him up and help him remember. She was happy to see him smile again…
“Its nice to see your smile again” she teased, smiling at him.
“Hah,” he said, chuckling lightly. “I don’t know, I guess part of me will always be this filled with angst.”
“Awww come on!” she complained. “If you do sing, even a little. I’ll do anything you want- as long as I don’t have to sing in front of lots of people….”.
